Trading Science has conducted a study prior to implementation of a mission-critical supply chain solution for Korsnäs AB, cartonboard and paper producer. Trading Science has employed their in-depth knowledge in the areas of demand and capacity planning in partnership with Tieto to complement the logistics and operations services and software products to be supplied by Tieto. The prime goal of the study is to deliver a roadmap for implementation of a best-of-breed, integrated, supply chain solution that accurately models the paper industry. Once the solution is in place, Korsnäs will be able to better service and support its customers while improving its internal efficiency.

The solution that will be implemented at Korsnäs is an integrated component of Tieto's forest industry-specific solution, Tieto Integrated Paper Solution (TIPS). TIPS provides world-class, proven support for supply chain logistics and operations management. TIPS has integrated yet independent modules for forecasting, customer order management and manufacturing execution systems modules, which cover production planning (rough planning, fine planning and paper machine trim), production and quality management (including optimisation of reelers, re-reelers, sheeters and other converting and packaging equipment), warehouse management, shipping and customer invoicing. Other business processes supported include product, real-time and transportation cost management. The applications will seamlessly integrate with I-Plan from Trading Science.
