Trading Science has conducted a study prior to implementation of a mission-critical supply chain solution for Korsnäs AB, cartonboard and paper producer. Trading Science has employed their in-depth knowledge in the areas of demand and capacity planning in partnership with Tieto to complement the logistics and operations services and software products to be supplied by Tieto. The prime goal of the study is to deliver a roadmap for implementation of a best-of-breed, integrated, supply chain solution that accurately models the paper industry. Once the solution is in place, Korsnäs will be able to better service and support its customers while improving its internal efficiency.

Mondi is linking its successful I-Plan system to SAP as part of a business improvement project. SAP will replace an in-house system for transaction processing, but I-Plan will continue to be used rather than SAP's SCM tools. After an extensive evaluation of the alternatives of reverting to spreadsheets or implementing SAP SCM, Mondi concluded that the best solution for their supply chain planning needs was to continue using I-plan.

Trading Science is pleased to announce the general availability of I-Plan version 3.0 This new version includes a Dashboard on the Home page to give users a snapshot of Key Performance Indicators when they first log in. It also includes a new optional module called BSO for  Block Schedule Optimisation.

Trading Science has signed an agreement with Cansun Technology to market its services and solutions in China. Cansun Technology is a new venture using expertise in the Chinese market from Cansun pulp trading specialists and supply chain experts who have worked in the paper industry in Asia for many years. Cansun employees have extensive knowledge of the Chinese market and the benefits that supply chain planning and optimisation can bring to major companies.
